Turtleseed is a social networking website with a focus on positivity and privacy. Each post, called a “seed”, is limited to 140 characters in the spirit of twitter. These seeds are set to automatically be deleted after 3 days with no activity, unless you change your settings, so you can ensure no one will be digging weeks and months back on your profile.
Turtleseed does not run any ads, and is instead reliant on donations in the form of “Shore Love”. Shore Love is a way of rewarding your favorite users, called “seedizens” for being awesome. Every time a seedizen earns 100% Shore Love, they get $20 in their Shore Bank, which can be actually cashed out at a later date.
Turtleseed also highly encourages discussion, as opposed to sending posts out into the void to be totally ignored. It’s not uncommon for everyone on the Shore (kind of like tumblr’s “Dashboard) to be talking about the same topic for a few minutes. If you want somewhere to talk specifically about only one subject, there are also Clans, which are sort of similar to subreddits— and they work very similarly to your Shore, as well, including seeds getting automatically deleted.
Turtleseed is currently invite only, and there are two ways to get a invite. the first is to enter your email from the main page and wait to get in, or you can find someone who is already a user (like me!) and send them your email for a shorter wait. We really want to keep the website growing, so if you think this sounds like the place for you, go ahead and send an ask for an invite to me or any other seedizen!
